Doberman Raises Kitten Who Copies Dog Habits

A Doberman named Diesel has formed an inseparable bond with a kitten named Wasabi, whom he helped raise. The kitten now mimics the dog's behaviors, acting more like a canine than a feline.

Diesel's owner discovered a litter of stray kittens in their shed. The Doberman had previously been attacked by a cat, leaving him understandably nervous around felines. This time, however, Diesel was fascinated by the tiny newcomers. His curiosity turned into gentleness as he welcomed them.

While Diesel showed interest in all the kittens, one named Wasabi became his special companion. Raised alongside the large dog, Wasabi had endless opportunities to observe his bigger brother.

Wasabi Adopts Canine Mannerisms

As he grew, Wasabi did more than just follow Diesel around. He began copying the Doberman's routines. The kitten seemed convinced his big brother was giving him lessons on how to be a dog.

One of the clearest examples was Wasabi rolling around in the dirt, exactly as Diesel does. The vast difference in size did not matter to the kitten. To Wasabi, Diesel was simply family, and imitating him became a natural part of daily life.

A Protective Bond Goes Both Ways

The relationship is deeply reciprocal. Diesel has been patient and watchful over Wasabi since the beginning. The kitten eventually found his own way to return that loyalty.

When a neighbor's dog began barking aggressively at Diesel, Wasabi darted forward. The small cat planted himself protectively between the two dogs, ready to stand with his canine brother despite the size disadvantage. This act showed the depth of their unique bond.

A History Overcome

The friendship carries extra significance due to Diesel's past. His previous negative encounter with a cat had left him wary. The arrival of the stray kittens provided a completely different experience.

Instead of another frightening moment, Diesel found tiny companions who became part of his world. Wasabi, in particular, helped transform a potential lasting fear into trust and affection. What began with stray kittens in a shed gave Diesel a new family member and gave Wasabi a loyal brother to imitate and protect.
